# Copyright and Takedowns

Last updated October 31, 2026.

We respect the rights of artists, labels and publishers. If you hold the rights to something on Gamesdle and want it removed, write to [legal@gamesdle.bid](mailto:legal@gamesdle.bid) and we will act on it.

## 1\. Songless and the music it plays

- Songless plays short excerpts of Apple's official 30-second song previews, streamed directly from Apple to the player's browser.
- We never download, store, copy or re-host any audio. We keep only a song's title, artist, year, artwork link and Apple's links to it.
- Every answer screen links to the song on Apple Music so players can listen to and buy the full track there.
- We don't sell or charge for any recording, and Songless is free to play.

## 2\. How to ask for removal

Email [legal@gamesdle.bid](mailto:legal@gamesdle.bid) with:

- The song (title and artist) or the page you want removed, with a link if you have one.
- Who you are and the rights you hold or represent (artist, label, publisher, or their agent).
- How we can reach you.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized, and that the information in your request is accurate.
- For a formal notice under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA): your physical or electronic signature, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them.

An informal request is fine too: we act on any credible request from a rights holder, with or without the formal wording.

## 3\. What we do

- We aim to remove the song from Songless within 24 hours of a complete request, usually much sooner. It drops out of the game, the song search and every future day.
- If the song is today's puzzle, a different song replaces it immediately.
- We reply to confirm what we removed, and keep a record of the request.
- A rights holder can also ask us to leave out a whole catalog (an artist or a label). We will.

## 4\. Other content

Game listings link to and frame other websites, and their names, icons and descriptions come from those sites. For a listing, the same address works: tell us the page and the content, and we will remove or correct it. A game's owner can also ask us to stop showing the game inside a frame on Gamesdle, so that it only opens on its own site.

Gamesdle isn't affiliated with the makers of listed games (other than our own Originals). Game names, logos and icons belong to their owners, and a listing doesn't mean the owner sponsors or endorses Gamesdle.

## 5\. Counter-notices

If something of yours was removed after a complaint and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, write to the same address with: what was removed and where it was, why you believe it was removed by mistake, your name, address, phone number and signature, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal court for your district (or, outside the US, any district where Gamesdle may be found). We may pass it to the person who complained and, where the law allows, restore the content.

## 6\. Repeat infringers

We remove the listings of, and may refuse further listings from, anyone who repeatedly infringes others' rights.

## 7\. Trademarks

Trademark complaints go to the same address. Tell us the mark (and registration, if any), the listing or page that uses it, and why you believe the use is a problem. We may remove or change the listing while we look into it.

## 8\. Liability and indemnity

- Anyone who knowingly misrepresents in a notice that material is infringing, or in a counter-notice that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). By sending us a notice or counter-notice, you agree to indemnify the Gamesdle parties against all claims, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from it.
- Game owners who list a game indemnify the Gamesdle parties against claims that their listing, their game or the material shown with it infringes someone else's rights, as set out in section 12 of our [Terms of Service](https://gamesdle.bid/legal/terms).
- To the fullest extent the law allows, the Gamesdle parties' total liability for any content on the site, for removing or restoring it, or for any decision under this policy is zero US dollars (US$0), as set out in section 11 of the Terms.
- Acting on a request, or declining to, isn't an admission that any content infringes or doesn't infringe anyone's rights.
