## About Songless

Songless is a daily song-guessing game built into Gamesdle. Every UTC day there is one mystery song, the same for every player. You start by hearing just half a second of it. If that is not enough, you can skip or make a guess, and each skip or wrong answer unlocks a longer slice of the song: one second, then two, four, seven and finally sixteen seconds. You have six tries in total to name the track, and the fewer you need, the better your result.

The songs are well-known tracks from the last six decades: rock and pop classics, soul and disco, hip-hop, dance anthems, film songs and recent chart hits. The audio comes from Apple's official song previews and is streamed directly from Apple to your browser, so what you hear is the real recording, not a cover or a re-creation. Once you solve the song, or use all six tries, the answer is revealed with its artwork, year and a link to listen to the whole track on Apple Music. Songless has eight song pools, one per language: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Hindi and Bangla. Use the pills above the game to switch; each language has its own song of the day.

To guess, you pick one of four song choices shown under the player: today's song and three decoys from around the same years by other artists. A wrong pick is crossed out and unlocks a longer clip, so each try narrows things down. Your progress is saved in your browser as you play, so you can close the page and come back later in the day without losing your tries.

Songless sits in the music category on Gamesdle. It rewards the kind of instant recognition that comes from years of radio, playlists and road trips, and it is just as much fun to play alone as it is to compare results with friends. After each game you can see how everyone else did that day, and share a spoiler-free grid of your attempts.

## How to play Songless

1. Open the Songless page on Gamesdle. The game is part of the page, so there is nothing to install and no account to create.
2. Press the round play button to hear the first half second of today's song. You can replay any unlocked part as often as you like.
3. If you recognize it, tap the matching song among the four choices. Each choice shows the title and the artist.
4. If you are not sure, press Skip to hear more without using a guess on a wrong answer. A skip still counts as one of your six tries.
5. Each skip or wrong guess unlocks a longer clip, from half a second up to sixteen seconds on your final try.
6. When you solve it or run out of tries, see the answer, listen to the full preview, and follow the link to the song on Apple Music if you want more.
7. Come back after midnight UTC for a new song. The countdown on the answer screen shows how long is left.

## Tips for Songless

- Listen with headphones or decent speakers if you can. The first half second often carries a single drum hit, a synth chord or a vocal breath, and small details matter.
- Think about the sound before the song. The production style of a clip, from vintage tape warmth to modern bass, can narrow the decade before you place the track.
- Skipping is not a failure. A skip and a wrong guess cost the same try, so if you have no idea, skipping to hear more is usually the smarter move.
- Use the choices as clues. The decoys come from around the same years as the answer, so listen for the voice, instrument or production detail that sets one of them apart.
- Replay the unlocked clip a few times before you commit. Many players solve on the second listen of the same slice rather than on a longer one.
- Keep playing every day to build your streak. Your stats, including your win rate and best streak, are kept in your browser.

## Who will enjoy it

Songless is for anyone who sings along in the car, argues about who did the original, or likes to name a tune within the first few notes. Casual players can treat it as a quick daily moment of nostalgia, while music obsessives can chase the satisfaction of a first-try solve. Because the catalog spans decades and genres, everyone gets days that are easy for them and days that are a real challenge, which makes it a good game to play with family or friends of different ages.

## What sets it apart

Songless keeps the classic daily music-guessing format simple and fair. Everyone hears the same song with the same clip lengths and sees the same four choices, the decoys are real tracks from the game's catalog, and the audio is always the official recording streamed from Apple rather than a re-upload. It runs entirely inside Gamesdle with no sign-up, saves your progress in your browser, and after every game it points you to the full song on Apple Music, so the game sends listeners back to the music.

## Play Songless on Gamesdle

Songless is built into Gamesdle, so it plays right on this page: no other site and no account. Song previews stream straight from Apple Music, and your guesses, streak and stats are saved in this browser.

## Songless: questions and answers

### How long are the clips?

Your first try plays half a second of the song. Each skip or wrong guess unlocks more: one second, two, four, seven and finally sixteen seconds on the sixth try. You can replay whatever is unlocked as many times as you like.

### Where does the music come from?

Songless plays Apple's official 30-second song previews, streamed directly from Apple to your browser. Gamesdle never stores or re-hosts any audio, and every answer links to the full song on Apple Music.

### Is it the same song for everyone?

Yes. Each language pool has one song per UTC day and every player of that pool gets the same one, so you can compare results with friends. You can play every language's song each day, and new songs arrive at midnight UTC.

### How do the four choices work?

Every day shows the same four songs to everyone: today's song and three decoys from nearby years by other artists. Tapping one is your guess. A wrong pick is crossed out and unlocks a longer clip, and you can skip at any time to hear more without guessing.

### Do I need an account?

No. Your guesses, streak and stats are saved in your browser's local storage. Keep using the same browser to keep your history; there is no name, email or password involved.

### Can I play past days?

Yes. Under the game, Play past songs opens the archive of every earlier day in your language. Practice games are saved in your browser but don't count toward your streak, your stats or the day's results, and upcoming songs are never shown.
